The library is an integral part of the University. Its main function is to organize printed and electronic funds and maximally meet the needs of consumers using modern technologies. It maintains a full collection of academic resources and provides users with engaging learning experiences and great services that allow people to discover and integrate reliable information in new ways. The library, according to the requirements, offers a variety of resources and services to its users including learning and auxiliary spaces: reading hall, book archive, library staff office space, consultation, computer, and copy rooms. The library works every day during university hours except Sunday and official holidays.
Electronic databases and e-book catalogs are available to users both in the library and online. Students also have access to EBSCO (11 databases in total) and Elsevier databases: – ScienceDirect® – (about 2,000 scientific journals); Scopus® – the largest international database of citations and abstracts in the world.
The director of the library periodically plans and conducts trainings on the use of the library’s existing online databases. There is a request registry of non-existent printed or online materials. Due to these and other requirements, the library funds are constantly updated. More information that defines the specificity of the goals, structure and other important issues about the library are set out in the Library Regulation and Library Rules available on the library’s web page and at the reading hall.

About Plagiarism
Plagiarism (or “wrongful appropriation”) is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement. The term “plagiarism” comes from the Latin plagiatrus, which means, “kidnapping someone”.
- Direct plagiarism (word-for-word copying without citation or references)
- Self-plagiarism (repetition of your own opinion without reference)
- Mosaic plagiarism (combining opinions from different sources, when individual authors are not mentioned)
- Accidental plagiarism (negligence at the initial stage of the study, but the result is the same as deliberate plagiarism)
To avoid plagiarism, it is necessary to:
- Indicate the exact source of the information used
- Note the merit of the person (s) who helped you with the work
- Used quotes should be inserted in quotation marks with exact source references
- Do not use materials posted on the Internet without reference
- Make appropriate references when quoting your own already published material
Prevention of plagiarism
For the prevention of plagiarism, academic writing is taught as a compulsory subject at the university. For undergraduate students, academic writing is taught in the first or second year of their studies, for graduate-level students in the first year of their studies.
Plagiarism and accountability
In the event of plagiarism, University Geomedi’s standing Committee for Academic Integrity will study the facts of the violation and will prepare the report, which will be submitted to the Rector for further response.
