Informational and Educational Conference “Athlete 365”

On October 17, 2019 an Informational and Educational Conference “Athlete 365” was held at the university by joint initiative from Georgian National Olympic Committee (GENOC), the National Olympic Academy (GENOA) and University Geomedi.

The main purpose of the event was to inform students about values and goals of the Georgian Olympic Committee’s educational platform and the Olympic movement. The audience had the opportunity to listen to lectures delivered by the invited experts discussing all major topics on “Athlete 365” platform, such as Olympic movement, modern Olympic games, doping and its impact on athletes, health and performance, problems faced by people with disabilities, their motivation, the importance of proper nutrition for successful athletic career, sport injuries and prevention methods.

The lectures on these major topics were presented by Lela Aptsiauri, President of Georgian Olympic Committee, Teimuraz Ukleba, the Vice President of the Anti-Doping Agency, Nutritionist, Prof. Dr. Ketevan Beridze, Rusudan Apciauri, Head of the International Relations Office and Dr. Tea Adamia, Rehabilitation Specialist.

The participants at the event received “Athlete 365” shirts and certificates from Georgian National Olympic Committee and the National Olympic Academy.
